We are following and proceeding the dairy meetings so the venues are the same but in different rooms and at different times. The Dairy meetings are run by Fonterra and are for suppliers only.

What’s the meeting about?

Organic Futures has been coordinating the supply of prime beef and culls in the South Island for 5 years.

In that time we have achieved 100% of the carcasses going into genuine organic markets and we have negotiated a consistent premium back to farmers.

Three years ago we could see the opportunities in the North Island to do the same.

Some of the limiting factors for this to happen then was a lack of a sizeable market for 100% of the carcass, a central killing plant that stock could be transported within the time frames of the organic standards, a plant that was certified to organic standards and the export boning rooms were certified to export standard.

Organic Futures has worked through these issues and are now able to offer you a full service.  Come and hear about it, we want to hear about any ideas you may have also.

Who will be at the Meetings?

  • Maurice Hellewell - Organic farmer and Director of Organic Futures Aotearoa
  • Alex Fauth – Anzco marketing manager for organic beef
  • Warick McKey - overall procurement manager for Riverlands

Organic Futures preferred processer is CMP and Riverlands.  Organic Futures also work closely with an organic company in Australia which gives us some synergies into marketing. Please fill out the survey and email back to This email address is being protected from spambots. Explanation of survey: We require the numbers of Cull, prime and store livestock so that we can forward plan for marketing and killing in the North Island. This has been one of the key elements to our success in the south island. This is not a commitment to supply as we release their are other factors for you to consider  price and feed at the time.

100% of our Prime and Cull Beef is going into long term sustainable markets.
